VIDEO: Aerosmith’s Dream On tribute to Boston Marathon victims

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry recorded a new arrangement of the band’s 1973 classic, “Dream On”, to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, and a video preview of their performance with the Southern California Children’s Chorus is available.

The tribute aired Saturday on ABC as part of the ESPN special, “Dream On: Stories From Boston’s Strongest.”

Part of the E:60 news magazine series, the hour-long show will be broadcast again on ESPN on Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. on the anniversary of the attacks.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the 2013 marathon.

The 118th edition of the Boston Marathon will take place on April 21.

Aerosmith performed “Dream On” during the Boston Strong Concert benefit last May.

The band will resume their Global Warming Tour in support of their latest album, "Music From Another Dimension", on May 14 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Last week, Aerosmith and Slash announced dates for their Let Rock Rule summer tour of North America. The pair will hit the road for 21 shows starting July 10 in Wantagh, New York.
