Bruce Springsteen online museum to open

An online museum dedicated to Bruce Springsteen is set to open next month.

Rolling Stone reports will feature 300 artifacts when it launches in June, a date that coincides with the 30th anniversary of his hugely successful “Born In The U.S.A.” album.

Among the collected objects are handwritten lyrics, concert posters, report cards and more, with more to be added in subsequent months.

The site's Facebook page (here) currently features images of a number of Springsteen artifacts, including a passport photo, his driver's license and the lyrics to a song called "Henry Boy" that would become "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)."

The site's founder, Michael Crane, has previously contributed to exhibits at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and intends to offer up contest prizes on the site every six months.

Springsteen is playing shows across the US as part of his "High Hopes" world tour; he’ll wrap things up this weekend with two shows at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The rocker opened up the tour in January, playing his first-ever shows in South Africa; Bruce then did an extensive
series of dates across Australia and New Zealand before kicking off his current US run as part of the March madness Music Fest in Dallas, Texas last month.

Last month, Springsteen inducted The E Street Band into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at a ceremony in New York.

Pianist Roy Bittan, bassist Garry Tallent, guitarist and singer Patti Scialfa, guitarists Nils Lofgren and Steven Van Zandt, and drummer Max Weinberg shared in the Award For Musical Excellence, a special honor bestowed by the Hall of Fame on sidemen.

The late Clarence Clemons and Danny Federici were inducted posthumously, while original members Vini Lopez and David Sancious joined the current lineup in the honor.
