Def Leppard bassist selling Irish home for $2.57 million

Def Leppard bassist Rick Savage is selling his Irish home for an advised minimum value (AMV) of €1.85 million (approximately $2.57 million).

The Irish Times reports Savage and his wife, Paige, bought the house just over a year ago for €1.8 million and are said to be headling back to the U.K.

The country home Winton Grove is "on 1.2 acres of enclosed and very private grounds, with a tennis court, woodland, a little stream, lawns and extensive decking. Inside, the master suite is enormous, with three dressing rooms and an en suite; opposite are two more bedrooms and a bathroom… In total, there is 501sq m (5,400sq ft) of living space."

Rick and Paige live there with their three children — Jordan (20), Tyler (13), and Scott (12).

Savage and Def Leppard recently regrouped in Dublin, Ireland to write music for a new album.

“We just came out of a writing session in February with 12 new songs,” singer Joe Elliott revealed to Billboard in March. “We’ve got this [KISS summer] tour, then we’ll finish the album after that. We’ve never been this busy really.”

Elliott says the band are taking full control of the album, their first since 2008’s “Songs From The Sparkle Lounge.”

“Def Leppard is producing the album, because when it comes down to it, every producer that we ever think of and talk about falls at least number two behind Mutt Lange,” he explains. “We’re not gonna get Mutt, but we worked with him for 11 years in a studio, so we know how it works. Queen made their own records. For the state of the music industry and the place that we hold in it, if we’re even in it, cause I’ve always thought we were in our own little universe, there’s no need. If we have a hit, it won’t matter who produced it… It’ll be down to the song. And we were determined to write all these songs on our own and what we’ve got going so far sounds incredible.”

Def Leppard and KISS will launch a North American tour on June 23 in West Valley City, Utah.
