Stevie Young joins AC/DC in Vancouver

Stevie Young, the nephew of AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young, has joined the band in Vancouver as they begin recording sessions for a new album.

A fan posted a photo on ACDCfans.net of himself with Angus and Stevie taken at the Take Five Cafe in Vancouver on April 30.

It is presumed that Stevie is on hand to fill in on rhythm guitar while Malcolm is taking a break from the band due to his ill health.

Stevie previously replaced Malcolm on AC/DC’s 1988 Blow Up Your Video tour, playing dates across North America while his uncle took a break to deal with his alcohol dependency issues. Legend has it that many fans failed to notice the lineup change due to the family resemblance.

AC/DC are working on the new album at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studio with producer Brendan O’Brien (Aerosmith, Pearl Jam). O'Brien teamed up with the Aussie rockers to produce their 2008 album, “Black Ice”, at the same location.
