Jimmy Page Number Two Les Paul charity auction announced

For more than 40 years, Led Zeppelin guitar legend Jimmy Page has owned the legendary 1959 Les Paul “Number Two” guitar.

Four years ago, Gibson Custom painstakingly recreated it to Page’s specifications, including the iconic aged flame maple top and faded “Page Burst 2” finish—even replicating the ding, dent and wear marks.

Only 25 Gibson Custom Jimmy Page Aged and Signed “Number Two” Les Paul guitars have ever been released worldwide. All 25 guitars were personally handled and played by Page to ensure they met the highest quality standard of his original.

Once approved, each guitar was individually signed and numbered by Jimmy Page. Page kept #1, while the remaining 24 guitars instantly became highly valued collector’s items.

Finally, after half a decade, Guitar Center is opening the vault and offering #2 and #5 for auction.

Both guitars will be auctioned on eBay starting Thursday, June 19th at 4:00pm PST through Sunday, June 29th at 4:00pm PST.

All proceeds raised by Guitar Center from this auction will be donated to Little Kids Rock and USO charities.

The minimum bid for each guitar is $20,000.

This week, Page and Led Zeppelin launch the start of their reissues project with the release of expanded editions of “Led Zeppelin I”, “Led Zeppelin II” and “Led Zeppelin III” – each with a companion disc of bonus material.

Deluxe editions of the group’s first three albums are the first part of an extensive reissue program that will see all nine of the band’s studio albums reissued in chronological order, each remastered by guitarist/producer Page.
