Foo Fighters announce new album Sonic Highways

The Foo Fighters will release their new album, “Sonic Highways”, on November 10.

In a rare move, the project will be available globally on the same day, as opposed to staggered release dates by region.

Featuring 8 tracks, the band’s 8th studio album is produced by Butch Vig.

“Sonic Highways” will be available on CD and 180 gram vinyl; the vinyl includes a download card and comes in an assortment of nine different covers – including eight variants each themed for one of the cities in which the album was recorded: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

Each of the city-specific covers features the number 8 somewhere in the artwork.

The only place where fans can order a specific cover (or covers) is sonichighways.foofighters.com

A few weeks before the album’s release, HBO will launch the Dave Grohl-directed series, “Sonic Highways.”

Premiering Friday, October 17 at 11 p.m., the project will see the Foo Fighters visit, and record music at, some of the world's most iconic recording studios. Grohl will also conduct interviews for the series, speaking with some of the artists who have recorded at each facility.

The record will include collaborations with Gary Clark Jr., Zac Brown, Rick Neilsen of Cheap Trick and Eagles member Joe Walsh.
