VIDEO: Pearl Jam guitarist performs anthem at Seattle Mariners game

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready performed the national anthem at the Seattle Mariners home game against the Chicago White Sox at Safeco Field on August 8, and fan-filmed video from the event has surfaced.

McCready’s appearance was part of Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Night at the park, with a portion of the tickets sold to benefit the Northwest Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.

Crohn's & Colitis are two types of inflammatory bowel disease. McCready himself was diagnosed with Chron’s at the age of 21, and has worked to bring awareness and funds to the cause.

Advance ticket packages for the event included a limited-edition set of three guitar picks, displaying the logos of the Mariners, CCFA and a specially-designed Pearl Jam pick featuring McCready’s autograph.

McCready and Pearl Jam recently completed a European tour in support of their latest album, “Lightning Bolt.”

The band will launch a US tour in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 1.
