VIDEO: Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Original Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman has taken the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as nominated by Canadian ALS patient Larry Machula.

CBC reports Machula issued the challenge to all members of the Stones – including Wyman – from his care facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Machula backed up his words with action: with the help of nurses, Machula had three buckets of ice water dumped over his own head - each bucket had a separate letter – A, L and S.

Wyman then passed the challenge on to Bob Geldof, Mark Knopfler and Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall.

The bassist announced his retirement from the Rolling Stones in 1993; he has continued to perform with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, a blues-rock band featuring a revolving lineup of musicians.
