Ozzy Osbourne to receive Global Icon Award at MTV EMAs

Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV EMA (MTV Europe Music Awards) next month.

The Black Sabbath frontman joins the ranks of previous recipients Bon Jovi (2010), Queen (2011), Whitney Houston (2012), and Eminem (2013).

“Ozzy’s impact on music and pop culture has been tremendous," says Bruce Gillmer, executive vp of talent and music programming/events at Viacom International Media Networks. "For over four decades (and counting!) he’s entertained, influenced, inspired and sometimes shocked legions of diehard fans around the globe."

Hosted by Nicki Minaj, the 2014 MTV EMAs will take place on Sunday, November 9 at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

Ozzy has just released a pair of career-spanning “Memoirs Of A Madman” collections.

The "Memoirs Of A Madman" CD features 17 of Ozzy's greatest hit singles compiled in one place for the first time, and will be available in a single CD, 2-LP set and 2-LP picture disc set configurations.

The "Memoirs Of A Madman" DVD is a definitive visual two-disc DVD set which includes classic music videos, along with unreleased and out-of-print live performances, plus interviews from his solo career.

Ozzy recently revealed that Black Sabbath will record a new album with “13” producer Rick Rubin and then perform a final world tour.
