PHOTO: Wolfgang and Eddie Van Halen jam at 5150 studios

Wolfgang Van Halen is sharing a photo of himself and father Eddie playing at 5150 studios.

Reportedly an accomplished drummer, Wolfgang took the picture from behind the drum kit while Eddie noodle on his son’s bass guitar.

“Father and son. The best kind of jam,” posted Wolfgang on Instagram.

While there’s been no official confirmation of work being done in the Van Halen camp, Wolfgang recently completed recording his parts for the sophomore album by Tremonti, the side project of Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti.

Wolfgang joined the group at the start of their fall 2012 tour – on 24 hours notice – to fill in on bass for Brian Marshall, who had to pull out for undisclosed personal reasons.

The opportunity arose when Van Halen’s “A Different Kind Of Truth” tour went on hiatus following Eddie’s surgery for a severe bout of Diverticulitis.
