Black Sabbath bassist thanks fans for support following arrest

Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler is thanking fans for their support following his arrest in a bar brawl early Wednesday in California.

“Thx for your messages & support following the unfortunate altercation that occurred,” posted Butler on his social media sites.

Butler was allegedly involved in a “verbal and physical altercation” – according to the Inyo County Sherriff’s Department – at the Corkscrew Saloon located at the Furnace Creek Ranch property in Death Valley National Park.

The bassist was arrested for misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism; he spent the night in jail before being released early Wednesday.
