Def Leppard guitarist to publish memoir

Guitarist Phil Collen will publish his memoir, “Adrenalized: Life, Def Leppard, And Beyond”, on October 27 via Atria Books.

The lead guitarist teamed up with veteran journalist and author Chris Epting on the project, which marks the first book written by a member of the group.

"It's fascinating for even me to look back at my life," says Collen, "from working in a factory at 16 years old to eventually traveling the world selling over one hundred million records and all the experiences that come with that journey.

“I realize that there is a constant evolution of 'me' that is still a work in progress even as I continue to be vital and dynamic in my same occupation for the past 35 years well into my late fifties."

Collen joined Def Leppard in 1982 following the dismissal of original lead guitarist Pete Willis over alcohol abuse issues.

A rabid fitness enthusiast, Collen has been a vegetarian for 31 years, alcohol-free for 28 years, and vegan for over 4 years.

Def Leppard begin a series of European shows on May 15 and will launch an extensive North American tour with Styx and Tesla on June 23 in Tampa, FL.
