Nickelback cancel tour as singer prepares for throat surgery

Nickelback have cancelled all remaining dates of the second leg of the 2015 No Fixed Address North American tour following news that vocalist Chad Kroeger has been diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box.

Kroeger will undergo surgery in 3 weeks following vocal rest ordered by doctors.

Nickelback cancelled shows over the weekend, hoping the additional rest and treatment would help but an unfortunate diagnosis from the singer’s doctor revealed a more serious scenario.

“I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans,” says Kroeger. “I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.”

A full recovery is expected and Nickelback plan to return to the road for a fall European tour scheduled to start in Helsinki, Finland on September 30.

The group are expected to return to North America for shows in 2016.

A list of the cancelled shows is below; ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Last fall, “No Fixed Address” debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 80,000 copies.
