Metallica performed the national anthem as part of their appearance at the 2015 X Games in Austin, Texas on Saturday.
Guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett teamed up for ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ prior to the Moto X Speed & Style competition at the annual extreme sports event.
Metallica also performed a headline concert Saturday evening, with proceeds from the show’s download going to assist the victims of the recent floods in Texas.
The band are donating all money raised from the sale of the downloads of the June 6 show to the American Red Cross of Central Texas.
All formats of the download – including the high definition versions – are being offered at LiveMetallica.com for a discounted price of $5.00 each through July 15.
Metallica’s next scheduled show is at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1.
