VIDEO: Metallica perform Wherever I May Roam at Lollapalooza

Metallica are sharing footage of a performance of their 1991 single, “Wherever I May Roam”, at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1.

The band’s video highlight package also includes guitarist Kirk Hammett, bassist Robert Trujillo and drummer Lars Ulrich in the meet and greet, the group warming up in the Tuning Room, and their cover of the Diamond Head song, “Am I Evil?”, from the concert.

The three-day event at Chicago’s Grant Park saw the metal veterans top the bill on Saturday with a 2-hour, 21-song set, which they have just released.

“Wherever I May Roam” was the fourth single from Metallica’s 1991 self-titled (“Black”) album. The tune reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart and No. 82 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their fifth album, “Metallica” was the group’s first to top the US charts and went on to sell more 30 million worldwide, including 16 million copies in the States alone.

Metallica will perform a short series of European shows in Bergen, Norway on August 20, following which they’ll play two special concerts in Quebec City next month before headlining Rock In Rio on September 19.
