Foo Fighters launch online countdown clock

The Foo Fighters have launched a countdown clock on their website.

Set to expire on November 23, the clock appears alongside the band’s logo on a U.S. highway-style road sign while some audio of people mumbling in the background rolls.

There’s no further information on what the clock represents as fans speculate on a possible upcoming announcement.

Earlier this month, the Foo Fighters recorded new material in Austin, TX while in town to perform as part of the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival.

“You know what I did last night?”, Dave Grohl told the crowd at Zilker Park during the October 9 show. “I recorded a song in your beautiful city of Austin, Texas. And I’m just gonna say it now: We recorded five new songs in your beautiful city of Austin, Texas. We’re gonna give it to you, but not tonight.”

The Foo Fighters will wrap up the world tour in support of 2014’s “Sonic Highways” in Barcelona, Spain on November 19.

The final run includes a November 3 show in the Italian town of Cesena after 1000 fans performed their 1999 hit, “Learn To Fly”, on July 26 in hopes of convincing the group to perform in their city.

Organizer Fabio Zaffagnini spent a year planning the massive outdoor event to create a video as a plea to the Foo Fighters to come to Cesena.

The clip quickly went viral, racking up more than 18 million views in just 5 days; it’s now been seen more than 26 million times.
