Steve Miller thanks fans for Rock Hall nomination

Steve Miller is thanking fans for their support following his nomination for the 2016 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Miller was named Thursday as one of 15 artists under consideration for the honor, alongside Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Yes and The Cars, among others.

“We know that our fans made our nomination into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame happen!,” says the guitarist. “Thank you for your support! Yup... The time has come when your cries to ‘Put the Steve Miller Band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!’ have been heard!”

Miller released his debut album, “Children Of The Future”, in 1968 and rode a wave of mega-hits in the 1970s that started with 1973’s “The Joker.”

His “Greatest Hits 1974–78” collection is one of the top 40 best-selling albums in the US with more than 13 million copies sold.

The guitarist’s most recent studio release is 2011’s “Let Your Hair Down.”
