Metallica to headline Super Bowl 50 eve concert

Metallica will headline a Super Bowl 50 eve concert in San Francisco next February.

The band will play at year three of CBS Radio’s “The Night Before” annual event at AT&T Park in San Francisco on February 6.

"How cool is this?" says drummer Lars Ulrich. “Super Bowl madness, AT&T Park and Metallica all coming together in one over-the-top hometown gig. We are of course beyond psyched and extremely honored to be flying the flag for not only Bay Area music, but for heavy music in general at CBS Radio’s The Night Before 2016 edition.

"Get your dancing shoes ready, ’cause this is going to be one next-level, uniquely crazy event!”

Metallica will be joined by special guests Cage The Elephant.

A Metallica fan club members presale starts November 3 while general public seats will go on sale November 6.

Super Bowl 50 will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA on Sunday, February 7.

Metallica are currently recording new music for the follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic.”

The group recently wrapped up their 2015 live schedule with a headline set at the Rock In Rio festival in Brazil.
