Foo Fighters score pair of Grammy nominations for Sonic Highways



The Foo Fighters have scored a pair of nominations for the 58th annual Grammy Awards, set for next February in Los Angeles, CA.

Produced by Butch Vig, the band’s 8th album, “Sonic Highways”, has delivered nods for Best Rock Performance (“Something From Nothing”) and Best Music Film.

“Something From Nothing” will compete alongside tunes by Florence + The Machine, Elle King, Alabama Shakes and Wolf Alice.

The group’s companion HBO series is up against biopics focused on Roger Waters (“The Wall”), Amy Winehouse (“Amy”), James Brown (“Mr. Dynamite: The Rise Of James Brown”) and Nina Simone (“What Happened, Miss Simone?”).

“Sonic Highways” debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 190,000 copies.

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on February 15 and broadcast on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. ET.
