Robert Plant announces US tour and new album plans

Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters have announced dates for a spring US tour and plans for a follow-up to 2014’s “lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar.”

The 2-week run across the US South starts March 4 with an appearance at the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida.

“I’m always eager to return to the hospitality of the Southern states,” said Plant. “Towns and cities that hold fond memories for me personally, places that gave birth to so much of the music I love.”

Ticket details are available at Plant’s official website.

The singer also revealed that a new record is in the works.

“Our recent travels have taken this wild whirlwind of a band though many incredible and inspiring places,” Plant explains. “Having just begun work on our new album, we thought we’d take time out to raise a little sand and welcome springtime with one more adventure, another celebration of life and song.”

“lullaby...” landed a US Top 10 debut for the rocker, marking his third straight top 10 - following 2010's “Band Of Joy” and 2007's “Raising Sand” with Alison Krauss.

As part of the recent 2015 hennemusic Rock News Awards, Led Zeppelin were named the No. 2 Rock News Artist Of The Year while also delivering the No. 7 Rock News Story Of The Year.
