The Who add Santa Barbara date prior to Desert Trip festival

Ahead of their appearance at the inaugural Desert Trip festival, The Who will play a warm up one-off concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, California on October 6.

Joining the band will be special guest Tal Wilkenfeld as their opening act.

A Who Fan Club presale is open to members while pre-sale tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00am PT through Friday June 24.

General public seats will be available Sunday, June 26 at 11 AM, PT at thewho.com, AXS.com or in person at the Santa Barbara Bowl Box Office.

The Who are one of six classic rock acts set for Desert Trip, the new weekend event run by organizers of the annual Coachella festival.

Running October 7-9 and 14-16 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan will perform on Fridays, Paul McCartney and Neil Young on Saturdays and Roger Waters and The Who will close out Sunday evenings.

With performances starting after sunset, each artist will play a full set with their own stage productions.

Last month, the event sold out both of its weekends in less than three hours.

The Who recently extended their latest farewell tour with the addition of fall dates in Europe.

The “Back To The Who Tour” will see Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend play five shows in their native UK and five more in Europe starting August 29 in Glasgow.
