Rolling Stones to release 1960s mono box set

The Rolling Stones will release a box set featuring a complete collection of their mono recordings from the 1960s.

Due September 30, “The Rolling Stones In Mono” is a 15CD or 16LP package that contains 186 tracks from the era, including 56 of which have never before been heard in mono since the advent of the digital age.

The collection brings together their first 14 classic albums – some in both US and UK editions – all newly remastered, along with a 24-track collection of oddities and singles, “Stray Cats.”

The box set includes a deluxe 48 page colour book that features rare photos by renowned photographer Terry O’Neill.

To mark the box set’s release, The Rollng Stones will release a limited edition (1000 copies) series of 7” singles in nine countries around the world, complete with reproductions of their original sleeves.

The band have a busy September schedule of events, as they will premiere “Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America”, at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.

Directed by Paul Dugdale, the film follows the band’s recent América Latina Olé tour, which culminated with a historic free gig in Havana, Cuba before 1.2 million fans.

Following the Toronto event, The Rolling Stones will debut their Cuban concert film, “Havana Moon”, in theaters worldwide on September 23.
