Alter Bridge issue My Champion lyric video

Alter Bridge have issued a lyric video for “My Champion”, a track from their forthcoming album, “The Last Hero.”

“The lyric was actually inspired by thinking back to my situation as a kid,” explains singer Myles Kennedy. “I was this really small, underdeveloped kid who had to work extremely hard to keep up with all of my peers. It was very frustrating.

“I would hear a lot of words of encouragement from parents, coaches, or teachers, though. A lot of those things were stored away, and they manifested themselves in this song. I’ve been able to apply some of those concepts in my life a thousand times over since then.”

“My Champion” follows the lead single, “Show Me A Leader”, as the latest preview of Alter Bridge’s fifth studio album, which will be released on October 7.

“The Last Hero” was recorded earlier this year with longtime producer Michael 'Elvis' Baskette.

Alter Bridge will launch a series of US headline dates in support of the project in Destin, FL on September 22.
