Nikki Sixx announces The Heroin Diaries 10th anniversary releases

Motley Crue and Sixx:AM bassist Nikki Sixx has announced a series of projects to be released this fall in sync with its tenth anniversary of his 2007 memoir, “The Heroin Diaries.”

The rocker will issue Tenth Anniversary Editions of the book, its companion soundtrack album and a new graphic novel of the New York Times bestseller that chronicles a year of decadence and depravity that almost cost Sixx his life during the recording and tour for Motley Crue’s 1987 album, “Girls Girls Girls.”

“Over the last ten years,” says Sixx, “I’ve met so many people who have thanked me for The Heroin Diaries and say that it saved their lives. But the truth is, writing The Heroin Diaries saved my life too.”

Due October 24, “The Heroin Diaries: Ten Year Anniversary Edition” book features a new cover, never-before-seen photos and exclusive brand new chapters.

On October 27, Sixx:A.M. will release “The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack: 10th Anniversary Edition.” The set features new artwork, personal notes from the band and include three newly re-imagined tracks: “Life Is Beautiful 2017”, “Accidents Can Happen 2017”, and “Girl With Golden Eyes 2017.” The project will be available as a digital album, CD, and CD/DVD, with a limited-edition vinyl package to follow later this year.

The group are streaming a lyric video for “Life Is Beautiful 2017” (below) as the first preview of the upcoming release.

“The Heroin Diaries: The Graphic Novel” sees Sixx team up with Heavy Metal magazine for the first release under the brand’s 12 X 12 imprint, a new line of music-themed art books and graphic novels that will explore the songs and experiences of the most exciting musical artists.

The memoir has been adapted by Rantz Hoseley, known for his award-winning work with Tori Amos on the graphic novel “Comic Book Tattoo”, along with acclaimed artists Danijel Zezelj and Kieron Dwyer, and features exclusive cover art by David Mack.

Sixx underwent shoulder surgery last month, just 90 days after the bassist underwent successful hip placement surgery in April.
