U2 announce Joshua Tree 2019 tour dates

U2 have announced a series of 2019 dates for The Joshua Tree Tour.

The band will play select stadiums in New Zealand, Australia, Japan – and for the first time ever - Singapore and South Korea later this year.

The month-long series will open in Auckland, NZ on November 8 before hitting five cities in Australia, a pair of shows in Japan and dates in South Korea and Singapore in December.

"It's only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it's great to be able to say that I've finally caught up with the band,” says Bono. “Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion… From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging… it's quite a ride. And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul… We're coming for you."

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will join the trek as support for the New Zealand and Australia dates.

"We are beside ourselves,” raves Gallagher. “The Joshua Tree 2017 Tour was some of the most fun we ever had. It will be both an honor and a pleasure to share the stage with our friends and comrades once again. It's gonna be a ripper!"

The Joshua Tree Tour 2019 will see the band return to New Zealand and Australia for the first time since the record-shattering 360° Tour in 2010; as well as the first Tokyo shows since the Vertigo Tour in 2006; plus what promises to be some very special concerts with the band's first ever visit to Singapore and Seoul.

Ticket presales to U2.com subscribers begin on Tuesday, June 4 and run until Thursday, June 6.

Details regarding the Singapore concert will be announced soon; for information on tickets to all shows, visit u2.com.
