Steve Perry releases Silver Bells video

Steve Perry has released a video for his version of the all-time Christmas classic, "Silver Bells", as part of a newly-issued holiday EP of the same name.

“So happy to share some of my personal holiday spirit with you in the form of my postcard music video,” says Perry. “See Christmas through the eyes of a young me from Hanford, California in a Christmas Parade with one of my favorite childhood gifts, my first red bicycle much bigger than me, and me believing in the sound of Silver Bells. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers!”

The former Journey singer co-produced the new single with Thom Flowers; the EP is now available both digitally and on seven-inch vinyl, along with brand-new, special edition merchandise exclusively at Perry's online store.

“The holidays are certainly a wonderful time of the year filled with many emotions,” adds Perry. “I’m very happy to share with you one of my favorite holiday songs, “Silver Bells” done with my love for R&B mixed in, along with a new remix of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.’ I hope it brings a smile to you and yours in this holiday season!”

Perry and Journey members Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are among the nominees under consideration for entry into The Songwriters Hall Of Fame next year.

After scoring huge international success with Journey through the late 1970s and mid-1980s, Perry left the group in 1998; longtime singer Arnel Pineda joined the lineup in 2007 after being discovered by Schon singing Journey covers on YouTube with Filipino band The Zoo.

The Hall will host its 51st Annual Induction & Awards Gala in New York City next June.
