Pearl Jam announce new Gigaton album and North American tour

Pearl Jam will release a new album, “Gigaton”, on March 27 and launch the project with a newly-announced North American tour.

Produced by Josh Evans and the band, “Gigaton” marks the Seattle outfit's first studio album since 2013’s “Lightning Bolt” and will be previewed in the coming weeks with the lead single, “Dance Of The Clairvoyants.”

“Making this record was a long journey,” explains guitarist Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times."

The cover art for “Gigaton” features Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist Paul Nicklen’s photo “Ice Waterfall”; taken in Svalbard, Norway, this image features the Nordaustlandet ice cap gushing high volumes of meltwater.

Pearl Jam will begin a 16-date North American tour on March 18 in Toronto, ON; the series will open with four Canadian concerts before hitting New York, Nashville and Denver, and see two nights in Los Angeles before closing with a pair of shows in Oakland in mid-April.

In addition to a Ten Club presale, a Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale begins on Thursday, January 23 at 10am local time, with general public tickets going on sale Friday, January 24 at 10am local time.

Pearl Jam will follow the North American shows with a previously-announced European tour this summer.
