VIDEO: Green Day performs Dookie classic on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

Green Day performed their 1994 classic, “When I Come Around”, during a December 31 appearance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and the band are sharing official video from the broadcast.

The fourth of five singles from “Dookie” helped the group’s third record and major label debut hit No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to sales of more than 10 million copies in the country.

Green Day also delivered the title track and lead single from their forthcoming album, “Father Of All”, on the nationally-televised US broadcast that closed out 2019.

“Started the New Year out with a bang and it's only getting better,” posted the group on social media. “New music coming very soon.”

The band will release the new record on February 7 before heading out on a global stadium tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer; the Hella Mega Tour kicks off June 13 in Paris and will visit cities throughout Europe, the UK and North America.
