Def Leppard and ZZ Top announce US tour

Def Leppard and ZZ Top are teaming up for a series of US dates this fall.

The month-long, 16-show 20/20 Vision tour will open in Albany, NY on September 21, with gigs wrapping up in Spokane, WA on October 18.

The fall trek will follow Def Leppard’s summer stadium shows with Motley Crue, which run from late June to early September.

“What a year this is going to be!,” says Joe Elliott. “First, sold out stadiums, then we get to go on tour with the mighty ZZ Top! Having been an admirer of the band for a lifetime it’s gonna be a real pleasure to finally do some shows together...maybe some of us will get to go for a spin with Billy in one of those fancy cars...”

“We’re excited about hitting the road with Def Leppard this fall; we’ve been fans of theirs since forever,” adds Billy Gibbons. “We’ve been at this for 50 years now and the forthcoming run with them underscores that the good times are really just beginning.

“Joe Elliott is always welcome to ride ‘shotgun’ with us and we won’t even ask him to pay for the gas.”

A Rock Brigade Fan pre-sale starts Monday, February 17 at 10am, while a Citi cardmembers presale runs from Tuesday, February 18 at 10 AM local time until Thursday, February 20 at 10 PM local time, with general public tickets going on sale Friday, February 21 at 10 AM local time.

Def Leppard will release a new box set, “The Early Years 79-81”, on March 20.

Billed as “the definitive collection of the band’s early music,” the 5CD package delivers remastered versions of the UK group’s first two albums – 1980’s “On Through The Night” and 1981’s “High ‘N’ Dry” – alongside previously-unreleased live material and a collection of B-sides and rarities.
