Foo Fighters share new album update

Dave Grohl is sharing an update on the status of a new Foo Fighters album.

The band have been working on the follow-up to 2017’s “Concrete And Gold” since last October.

“We just finished making a record,” Grohl reveals during an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast. “Some of those songs, the best ones happen in 45 minutes. Then there's other songs — there's a riff on the new record I've been working on for 25 years. The first time I demoed it was in my basement in Seattle.”

The group’s ninth album debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 upon its release; the set was co-produced by the band and Greg Kurstin (Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Sia) and mixed by Darrell Thorp (Beck, Radiohead).

The project earned the Foo Fighters a 2018 Grammy Award in the “Best Rock Song” category – a songwriters award – for “Run”, while the tune lost out in the “Best Rock Performance” field to a song by sentimental favorite Leonard Cohen

The Foo Fighters will celebrate their 25th anniversary this year when they return to live action at Virginia Beach, VA’s Something In The Water festival in late April.
