Sammy Hagar announces Birthday Bash pay per view event

Sammy Hagar will host his annual Birthday Bash concert this month via pay-per-view.

After decades of bringing the event to his bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the Red Rocker has adapted the concept as an online event during the pandemic.

The singer – who turns 73 on October 13 – will record his performance with The Circle and other guests on California’s Catalina Island on October 8 for streaming via on Saturday, October 17.

"I have been trying to make the birthday bash available to anyone and everyone for over 20 years,” says Hagar. “The way I see this unbelievable gift under the dark cloud of COVID-19 is, we all had to roll up our sleeves, put on our thinking caps and this beautiful wonderful exotic island sitting right in front of our faces gave us the thumbs up.

“It's going to be hard to beat the parties we've thrown for nearly 30 years in Cabo, but I have a good feeling about this birthday bash. Come join the party – for the first time we all get to be there. It's coming via PPV from the beach to your house!"

Organizers have made it clear that no in-person viewing will be allowed on land during the filming: "The entire surrounding area will be social distanced and enforced by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department. The only way it can be viewed in person is to be on a boat."

Sammy Hagar’s Birthday Bash will stream Saturday, October 17 at 9:00pm EST, with presale tickets available October 6 via
