AC/DC Thunderstruck video passes 1 billion YouTube views

The video for AC/DC’s 1991 track, “Thunderstruck”, has passed 1 billion views on YouTube.

“Thank you fans!,” shared the band on social media alongside news of the milestone.

Directed by David Mallet and filmed at London's Brixton Academy, the clip was for the lead single from “The Razor’s Edge” album; the tune reached No. 5 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart while the project hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its way to sales of more than 5 million copies in the region.

Last fall, AC/DC released their latest album, “Power Up”; the project topped the charts in more than 20 countries – including the US and UK, among others – while also enjoying a four-week run atop the Australian charts.

The group’s current single is for the “Power Up” track, “Through The Mists Of Time.”
