Aerosmith announce Peace Out farewell tour

Aerosmith has announced details for its farewell tour.

The “Peace Out” series – with guests The Black Crowes – will see the rock icons play 40 shows across North America throughout the fall and into the new year, starting September 2 in Philadelphia, PA.

"It's not goodbye it's PEACE OUT!”, says Aerosmith. “Get ready and walk this way, you're going to get the best show of our lives."

The farewell performances will see the Boston rockers celebrate five decades of groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years since the 1973 release of their self-titled debut album.

The band also shared news of Joey Kramer's absence from this touring run: “While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey's unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

For the past year, Aerosmith's longtime drum tech John Douglas has been filling in on drums for Kramer, whose wife, Linda, died last June at the age of 55.

Tickets for the “Peace Out” tour will go on sale Friday, May 5 at 10 AM local time via the usual outlets.

With worldwide sales of more than 150 million records, Aerosmith – who formed in Boston, MA in 1970 – were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2001.
