Metallica classic Nothing Else Matters passes 1 billion Spotify streams

Metallica’s 1991 classic, “Nothing Else Matters”, has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

"Welcome to the club, Metallica,” shared Spotify on social media. “'Nothing Else Matters' has joined the #billionsclub.”

The third single from Metallica’s self-titled record – aka The Black Album – joins previous hits to reach the milestone on the streaming service including Survivor's "Eye Of The Tiger", Abba's "Dancing Queen", OneRepublic's "I An't Worried", Coldplay's "Yellow", Imagine Dragon's "Believer", Ed Sheeran's "Perfect," The Police's "Every Breath You Take" and more.

“Metallica” delivered the band’s commercial breakthrough upon its original release as their first record to top the US charts while going on to sell 16 million copies in the country and more than 31 million worldwide.

Metallica is currently playing dates on the two-year M72 series in support of their latest album, “72 Seasons.”
