Metallica win Grammy Award for 72 Seasons

Metallica won a Grammy Award for a song from their latest album, “72 Seasons”, during a February 4 event in Los Angeles, CA.

The band snagged honors for the set’s title track in the Best Metal Performance category, ahead of fellow nominees Disturbed, Ghost, Slipknot and Spiritbox.

Bassist Robert Trujillo was on hand to accept the award on behalf of the group.

Metallica were also nominated in the Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance categories, which were won by Paramore and Boygenius respectively.

Launched with the lead single, “Lux AEterna”, Metallica released its eleventh studio album last spring; recorded at the group’s HQ in San Rafael, CA and produced by Greg Fidelman and band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, the project debuted at No. 1 on the US Album Sales chart.

The group will resume its M72 concert series with two shows in Munich, Germany in late May.
