The sixth “Hysteria” single delivered the UK rockers their only No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while the project went on to become the group’s biggest-selling album with more than 20 million copies sold worldwide.
The rare club performance at the iconic Sunset Strip venue was part of the launch of the band’s twelfth studio album, “Diamond Star Halos.”
Following the event, Def Leppard teamed up with Motley Crue for a rescheduled North American stadium tour that also featured Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.
The 36-show run went on to sell 1.3 million tickets to deliver $173.5 million in revenue at the box office; the series was named 2022 Rock Tour Of The Year as part of the 34th Annual Pollstar Awards, ahead of treks by Coldplay, Rage Against The Machine, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, and The Killers.
