Judas Priest score UK chart career high with Invincible Shield

Judas Priest has scored the highest UK-charting album in its career with “Invincible Sheild.”

According to The Official Charts Company, the band’s 19th studio record debuts at No. 2 on the country’s Official Albums Chart to best their previous peak of a No. 4 spot with 1980’s “British Steel.”

“MetalManiacs, You’ve done it!” shared Judas Priest on social media during their recently launched 2024 tour. “Thank you for the incredible support on our latest release, ‘Invincible Shield’. We are thrilled to be out here playing for you all.”

The band also shared details on chart debut positions around the world, including No. 1’s in Germany, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland, and Top 5 spots in Ireland, Japan and France.

Launched with the lead single, “Panic Attack”, “Invincible Shield” was produced by Andy Sneap, who also doubles as a touring member of the group in place of Glenn Tipton following his retirement from full-time touring a few years ago while dealing with Parkinson’s Disease; Tipton is featured as both a songwriter and guitarist on the band’s 2024 studio album.
