VIDEO: Behind the scenes for Megadeth’s Public Enemy No. 1

Megadeth are up for a Grammy Award at next month’s ceremony.

“Public Enemy No. I,” the first single from the band’s latest release, “TH1RT3EN,” is nominated for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, alongside tracks from Foo Fighters, Dream Theater, Mastodon and Sum 41.

The nod marks Megadeth’s 10th Grammy nomination; winners will be announced at the 54th annual event, which will be held on Sunday, February 12 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Now, a behind the scenes look at the making of the video for “Public Enemy No. 1” has surfaced. The footage provides some insight into the song’s creation and development, as well as the making of the “wild west” themed clip.

“There’s a really cool vibe to the whole thing,” explains leader Dave Mustaine. “This was a really a fun experience….I knew that we just made a video that was going to be able to be shown just about anywhere.”

Megadeth kick off their 2012 Gigantour on Friday (Jan 26) in Camden, NJ., along with Motorhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil, all personally hand-picked by Mustaine.

With shows across the US and Canada, the month-long tour wraps up February 28 in Denver.
