Motley Crue: Nikki Sixx to continue selling stage-played basses on tour

On the band’s recent Canadian tour, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx launched a campaign to sell his stage-played basses, and now he says he’s going to carry on with the new tradition for the group’s upcoming 2013 shows.

“Had such a great time doing this on the last tour I have decided to continue to do it,” posted Sixx on Monday. “I really enjoyed meeting all the fans and hearing their stories during the meeting, but the best part for me was hearing what the bass meant them and what they were gonna do with it. Thank you for making this great.”

“I also plan on doing this in Vegas, as well,” he adds, “and we have some special packages were working on for the residency.”

The basses are available for $4995.00 each…check out concert date options and availability at nikkisixxbass.com

Motley Crue have a few festival and headline shows lined up this summer before they head to Las Vegas this fall for their second residency in Sin City.

Billed as an “Evening In Hell,” the Crue will return to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for an exclusive 12-show run from September 18 through October 6.

The fall shows will be an all-new production and the band is pushing their own envelope once again. The production will be designed exclusively for The Joint, with plenty of surprise elements for fans and a set-list full of hits.

Since the Crue’s Vegas debut in 2012, Guns N’ Roses performed their “Appetite For Democracy” residency last fall, while Def Leppard played their “VIVA! Hysteria” series this spring.
