“Megadeth” was co-produced by Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw and marked the follow-up to 2022's “The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!”
The project helped the group top the US charts for the first time with the release of the band’s final studio record.
With Megadeth currently on the road in support of the album, Mustaine will hold a special conversation celebrating the release of his new memoir, “In My Darkest Hour”, on September 8 at the Kaufman Music Center in New York, NY.
Published by Da Capo – an imprint of Grand Central Publishing (GCP) – and the Hachette Book Group, the project sees Mustaine sharing his story with Joe Layden.
"One of most harrowing experiences of my adult life has been my seven-year journey through cancer treatment and onward into remission," says Mustaine about the experiences detailed in the forthcoming book. "This story is considerably more than just go to the doctor, get diagnosed, get treatment and hopefully I live happily ever after. This was a journey of me saving myself, staying alive, keeping my family together, and continuing to make music through it all."
