420 Day is Green Day

I know it’s redundant, but let’s make 420 Day a Green Day.

Caught an episode about Green Day recently on the Biography channel, and found an interesting little item.

Billie Joe Armstrong recorded his first song when he was just five years old. While attending Hillcrest Elementary School in Rodeo, California, Billie Joe’s piano teacher, Marie-Louise Fiatarone, encouraged him to record one of her husband’s songs as a way of paying for his lessons.

“Look For Love” was released on Marie’s Bay Area label, Fiat Records, in 1977. Billie Joe and Marie even recorded a “press” interview for the song…

Armstrong and his dad even took the show on the road, performing broadway show tunes and standards at area hospitals and nursing homes, with Billie Joe as the star attraction.

Word is that Fiat only pressed 800 copies of the single, so think about the value of that rare vinyl today...
