Green Day, Slash rock NY Jets opener

Week 1 of the new NFL season wrapped up with the first Monday night games, including the New York Jets home opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

Rock was there: Slash, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Jason Bonham were scheduled to play a pregame tailgate concert outside the stadium, but it was shut down early due to weather issues.

“We just got rained out,” Slash posted to Twitter. “After 3 songs, they made us pull the plug. What a f**king drag. They cut us off due to lightning. Who’s scared of a little lightning?”

Too bad: Scherzinger and Bonham were going to join Slash for the Led Zeppelin classic, “Whole Lotta Love.”

However, Green Day did perform "Last of the American Girls" with the Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning rock musical "American Idiot" at halftime.
