Conan O’Brien’s new TBS house band

Conan O’Brien will have many familiar faces in his house band when his new show debuts on TBS November 8.

Taking over where Max Weinberg left off, Conan’s new “Basic Cable Band” will be led by Jimmy Vivino, longtime guitarist on Conan’s shows over the years – including Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Vivino also served as band leader in Weinberg’s absences in the past, so should feel very comfortable in his new full-time gig.

In addition to its namesake, Jimmy Vivino & The Basic Cable Band will consist of Scott Healy (keyboards); Mike Merritt (bass); Mark Pender (trumpet); Richie "La Bamba" Rosenberg (trombone); Jerry Vivino (saxophone, woodwinds and vocals); and James Wormworth (drums).

Conan will originate from Stage 15 at Warner Bros. Studios and will be produced by Conaco LLC; Jeff Ross is the executive producer.

There’s been a whole series of promos for the new show based around the theme and soundtrack of “Missing You,” the 1984 John Waite hit. Here’s just one…
