A Scott Weiland Christmas arrives November 23

We can probably all come up with our own visions of what a Scott Weiland Christmas might look like, but we’ll find out what one sounds like on November 23, when Weiland’s “Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” disc hits stores.

"It'll be very traditional - strings, upright bass, jazz horns, piano, and guitar,”
WENN reports Weiland’s description of the project. "I'm sort of picking various versions of these songs...my favourite versions, with a little twist."

Amazon.com are already taking pre-orders for the new album.

The Stone Temple Pilots’ frontman has said he was inspired to do a full recording based on the positive reaction to his 2009 holiday single, “Have Yourself A Merry little Christmas.”

“My favorite Christmas carols are the old standards - Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole. There’s a certain texture and feel that gives me that spirit of the holidays,” Weiland said last year. “Also, the fact that they were recorded live says a lot for the musicians and for the singers.”

Weiland took the spirit of the “old-time” sessions to heart when he worked on the single last year. “We did it in a traditional sense in the way the greats would have done it back in the 30s and 40s," he said of the live studio recording. “We tried to do it as real and authentic as possible.”

In other news, we’ll see what happens with Weiland and STP, as they are scheduled to resume their current tour tonight in Tampa; several dates were postponed following Scott’s strange behavior and rambling speeches at a September 19 show in Houston.
