Metallica, on a mini-break before wrapping up their World Magnetic Tour with some final shows in Australia this month, sprung a surprise gig announcement on fans last week when they announced they’d be playing at the Santa Monica Airport.

Last Thursday's event was a launch party for the release of "Call of Duty: Black Ops," the new game by Activision; the evening also doubled as a fundrasier for The Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that helps soldiers transition to civilian life and assists them in establishing jobs and careers.

Fan-filmed videos of various quality have floated around for a few days now, so it’s great that Metallica have released a pro-shot video of one of the tracks from the show.
