Super Bowl Flashback: The Rolling Stones (2006)

Super Bowl 45 is set for tonight at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers for NFL Football’s crown.

The Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform the Halftime Show, possibly to be joined by rumored guests Usher and Slash.

hennemusic gets you warmed up for the big game with a series of flashbacks to rock n' roll Super Bowl Halftimes of the past.

Here’s today’s starting lineup:

12:30 PM – U2 (2002)
1:30 PM – Paul McCartney (2005)
2:30 PM – The Rolling Stones (2006)
3:30 PM – Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (2008)
4:30 PM – Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (2009)
5:30 PM – The Who (2010)

Still smarting from the 2004 “wardrobe malfunction” involving Janet Jackson, the NFL kept things in ‘safe mode' for 2006, as The Rolling Stones rocked Detroit’s Ford Field for Super Bowl 40.
