“After many years of touring, and a much-needed break, Cheap Trick has decided to take an unspecified amount of time off, therefore this event has unfortunately been canceled,” said the band alongside the cancellation of a February 13, 2027 show at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, NC, with similar updates affecting scheduled 2027 dates.
As the news spread amongst fans and the media, Cheap Trick released the following statement via social media.
"Many thanks to everyone who has expressed concern for us,” shared the group. “To clear things up, we've decided to take some time off after decades of touring because we need a break. Not for health reasons.
"We'll play our November shows and then take our first break in 50 years. Thank you for all your support!"
Cheap Trick has been on the road in support of their latest album, “All Washed Up”, which was produced by the band and Julian Raymond, mixed by Chris Lord Alge, and recorded at various studios in Nashville as well as in Los Angeles.
