Soundgarden: Preview ‘Live On I-5’

Soundgarden fans don’t need to wait ‘til March 22 to check out the band’s new album, “Live On I-5” – it’s available for listening now.

Soundgarden’s first-ever live album features tracks taken from the west coast leg of the band’s 1996 tour.

“We had always intended to release this as a live record and now it’s time to unleash the fury!” said the band.

Well, now you can check the live album out, as it is available for streaming on Soundgarden’s Facebook page here.

Soundgarden hit the studio last week to begin work on new music. “We don't have a schedule," said singer Chris Cornell. "It's not like we are going to go into the studio and come out when we're finished with an album. We're putting the music first. The process of writing, recording, and being creative together is the most important thing, not meeting a deadline."

The band will only have a short window for this first round of studio work before Cornell heads out for his first-ever solo acoustic “Songbook” tour, which kicks off March 25 in Aspen, Colorado.
