Former KISS guitarist arrested on assault charges

Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated assault.

TMZ reports Vincent (real name Vinnie Cusano) was busted by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee (just south of Nashville) and held on $10,000 bond; he posted bail and was released at 11:27 a.m. Sunday morning.

No details on the alleged assault were immediately available.

As a replacement for the departing Ace Frehley, Vincent was the last member of KISS to join during the original "makeup" era. Touring as "The Ankh Warrior," Vinnie was with KISS for 1982’s "Creatures Of The Night" album and tour, as well as the “Lick It Up” album and tour, the first for the band without makeup.

Vincent quit KISS in April 1984 after failure to receive writer/publisher royalties due him from the band. Upon leaving the legendary group, Vincent began recording demos which formed the basis of his first solo recording, 1986’s "The Vinnie Vincent Invasion."
