Chickenfoot completes mixing new album

Michael Anthony celebrated his 57th birthday Monday by sharing some Chickenfoot news with fans.

“Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes!,”
wrote Anthony on Facebook. “The only thing that makes my day better is that mixing on the new Chickenfoot CD is done! It's a lot heavier than the first record and I can't wait to get it out there!”

Then, Anthony confirmed the timing of the new music’s release:

“The first single should hit the airwaves sometime this summer with the full enchilada to follow in the fall. Stay tuned for all the details and we hope to see you all real soon! Mad Anthony”

Chickenfoot went into Sammy Hagar’s Foot Locker Studios in Marin County in January to begin the process of making their sophomore record.

The initial series of sessions ran pretty quickly to accommodate drummer Chad Smith’s schedule, as he was reconnecting with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to record their new album (which is set for release this August). A possible touring replacement for Smith has yet to be announced by the band, should it start considering dates in Smith’s absence.
